Stan Lee Partners with YouTube for Original Superhero Content

Comics legend and media producer Stan Lee has joined forces with YouTube to launch “World of Superheroes,” an initiative that intends to encourage leading online video creators to produce original superhero-themed content for the Web’s most popular video platform. As part of the program, Lee’s Pow! Entertainment has created special sets at YouTube Spaces studios and will offer creators the chance to meet and learn from professional stunt coordinators, visual-effects experts and costumers.

According to Variety, “YouTube and Pow! said 12 channels will be selected for a script consultation with Stan Lee’s development team and an additional six channels will be selected for a one-on-one script consultation with Lee.”

Among the YouTube creators expected to participate in Lee’s initiative are Machinima, TheBrothersRiedell, Adi Shankar and Lana McKissack. Creators will have access to YouTube’s studio sets located in Los Angeles, New York, London, Tokyo and São Paulo.

The sets have been designed in such a way to allow creators the opportunity to fully emerge themselves into the creative process of building a superhero-themed universe.”Sets [include] a secret lair with a high tech command center, science lab, and weapons locker,” Variety confirms.

Content will be available come mid-June on Stan Lee’s “World of Heroes” channel and YouTube Spaces channels.
