LG has revealed more information about its 2025 premium QNED evo lineup of LCD smart TVs in sizes ranging from 50 to 100 inches. QNED evo is the branding for LG’s 2025 LCD and LED TVs, which compete in the mid-range and high-end with models from Samsung, Hisense and TCL. The new QNED9M, the first LG QNED TV able to transmit audio and video wirelessly using LG’s True Wireless technology, allowing set-top boxes and gaming devices to be placed away from the TV for a clutter-free look and easier wall mounting. Last week LG announced it was adding direct access to Xbox gaming to its webOS portal.
The company has been promoting game-friendly features like 4K, 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium for all 2025 evo TVs.
LG’s True Wireless technology “leverages the Zero Connect Box to transmit audio and video wirelessly up to 144Hz without latency or loss in image or sound quality, while still meeting the criteria of an AMD FreeSync Premium experience,” CEPro wites.
Also confirmed is the QNED92, while Tom’s Guide mentions a new QNED85 line, too. All three run LG’s webOS 25 smart TV platform.
The trio also includes mini-LED backlighting, Dynamic QNED Color Solution and the Alpha 8 Gen 2 processor offering “enhanced AI performance” in LG’s midline TVs. (The Alpha 11 Gen 2 processor showcased at CES is used for its flagship top-of-the-line OLED evo M5 and G5 series.)
The Alpha 8 Gen 2 “delivers upscaling, analyzing the filmmaker’s intent to reduce picture noise and render faces, objects, text, and backgrounds with greater realism,” LG explains in a press release. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro provides HDR brightness and effects fine-tuning for each screen zone.
“Amplifying the audio experience, the TV’s AI features upscale two-channel sound to virtual 9.1.2 channel surround sound,” LG adds. “It also distinguishes and clarifies voices by separating them from background noise, making audio sound more natural.”
The 2025 evos use new color solutions “certified by Intertek for achieving 100 percent color volume” in both bright and dark environments, LG shares in a newsroom post touting a “proprietary Dynamic QNED Color solution” that replaces quantum dot technology for what LG promises will be “outstanding depth, clarity and precision.”
The LG QNED85, QNED92 and QNED9M lineups are available for preorder on LG’s website, reports Tom’s, noting that “the LG QNED85 starts at $899 for a 55-inch model and goes all the way up to $4,999 for a gargantuan 100-inch model,” while the “LG QNED92 starts at $2,299 for a 75-inch model.” The wireless QNED9M can be preordered for $1,799 for a 65-inch model and goes up to 86 inches.
