YouTube TV Sports Plan First of New Skinny Bundles for 2026

In addition to the free streaming video content that has helped propel YouTube to more than 225 monthly unpaid U.S. users, the Google platform has become a major player in the television market, offering cable-like channel bundles for a monthly fee. Now, it is expanding those offerings with more than 10 genre-specific packages coming in early 2026. The first unveiling from the new skinny bundles is the YouTube TV Sports Plan, with access to the major broadcasters, sports networks including FS1 and NBC Sports Network, as well as all ESPN networks and ESPN Unlimited.

Subscribers can also add the NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone with unlimited DVR, multiview, key plays and fantasy view, YouTube explains in a blog post.

“Our goal is to let you tailor your subscription with more options. Whether you stick with our main YouTube TV plan with 100+ channels, focus on sports, combine sports and news, or select a plan centered on family and entertainment content, subscribers will be able to easily choose the plan that works best for them,” YouTube adds.

Beyond the YouTube TV Sports Plan, the streamer did not share information on the other genre sub-packages to come, teasing that “we have a lot in store for YouTube TV members next year.” Deadline reports that “a family entertainment plan is also in the mix.”

While YouTube has yet to reveal pricing for its new skinny tiers, they’re sure to be individually priced less than the YouTube TV base plan, which costs $83 per month. The Wall Street Journal points out that “many pay-TV providers have launched slimmer packages to attract consumers who want access only to specific channels at a lower price than a full suite of offerings.”

“The YouTube TV Sports Plan will not include events exclusively available on other platforms, like Amazon Prime Video’s NFL ‘Thursday Night Football,’ Major League Soccer and F1 on Apple TV, or WWE programming on Netflix,” Variety writes.
