LiketoKnowit is a website that allows Instagram users to easily locate items, such as clothing and jewelry, in an Instagram post and then purchase them online. After signing up on the website, whenever a user “likes” a post on Instagram that links to “liketoknow.it,” they receive the information about the product in their inbox with links to shop online. RewardStyle, a company that allows fashion bloggers and publishers to earn commissions on items they link to, developed the site.

“The company has worked with people running roughly 1,000 different Instagram accounts, including celebrities like [actress Shay] Mitchell, fashion publications like Vogue and popular fashion bloggers,” reports The New York Times. “If products are bought from LiketoKnowit, the service charges a commission fee to retailers, which it then shares with the celebrity and bloggers using its site.”

Unfortunately, Instagram does not allow live links in posts, which makes the process more complicated.

Users can also shop on the website by browsing through collections.

“Kaetlin Andrews, a spokeswoman for RewardStyle, said that despite that workaround, Instagram was appealing because many people were posting there more often than on their Twitter feeds or personal blogs, if they have them,” explains NYT.

So far, 30,000 LiketoKnowit “likes” are recorded each day.
