Google Express Includes More Merchants During Expansion

Google Express has added three new cities: Chicago, Boston, and Washington, D.C. This means that seven million people can now use same-day delivery across all of the cities involved. Meanwhile, 12 million people can access next-day service in Northern California. In addition, Google has added 16 new merchants over the past few months. Shoppers that become Google Express members can now receive free same-day or overnight delivery on orders over $15.

“We’ve added national brands including 1-800-Flowers, Barnes & Noble, Nine West, PetSmart, Vitamin Shoppe and Sports Authority, and regional merchants such as Paragon Sports in New York and Vicente Foods in Los Angeles,” writes Brian Elliott, head of partnerships at Google Shopping, on the Google Blog. “In our new markets, we’ve added regional brands including Stop & Shop in Boston; Giant Food in D.C.; and Lux Roses, TigerDirect, Treasure Island Foods and Wrigleyville Sports in Chicago. Additionally, customers in the Bay Area who are 21 and over can now order alcohol.”

Members can also have access to free dibs on delivery windows. For those within the same household, users can share membership.

Members of Google Express (formerly Google Shopping Express) have the option to pay either $95 per year, $10 per month, or $4.99 per order.

New members can shop for the first three months free.

With more cities, more merchants, and more of your favorite items, Google Express is on its way toward making your life easier by helping you get even more errands out of the way,” says Elliott.
