ElevenLabs Text-to-Voice AI Tools Now Available for Mobile

ElevenLabs is bringing its powerful AI voice tools to mobile. Previously, the company’s apps and voice libraries were only available via the Web. Now iOS and Android users can tap ElevenLabs tech on the go with a “faster, intuitive, more powerful experience built natively for mobile” rather than awkwardly through a mobile browser. Combining mobility with creativity, the app lets users create realistic voiceovers for social media or narrate video using ElevenLabs’ text-to-speech models — including Eleven v3, now in alpha, which lets users fine-tune vocalizations using tags. The company has also introduced a new voice assistant, 11ai.

To use the new mobile app, “simply type or paste in the text, then select a suitable voice to generate an audio clip,” explains TechCrunch, noting that “the free plan gives users access to roughly 10 minutes of audio generation” — 10,000 free characters per month — after which ElevenLabs credits can be purchased for more time.

“You can choose different models to balance cost and quality, and you’ll have a shared credit limit between the Web and mobile app,” TechCrunch reports.

The new Eleven v3 model delivers “nuanced speech and emotion” and accommodates multiple speakers and customizable delivery, ElevenLabs says in a blog post that explains “you can prompt it with emotion, tone, or pacing to get exactly the performance you want.”

In other news, ElevenLabs has introduced a voice-activated assistant called 11ai that is “designed to actively participate in digital workflows,” The Decoder writes, explaining that the alpha release “is meant to showcase what’s possible with voice-first technology and API integrations.”

While “most voice assistants struggle to move beyond simple conversation and rarely take productive actions,” ElevenLabs says “11ai aims to change that” by imbuing its assistant with agentic capabilities: “Users give spoken commands, and the system carries out tasks on their behalf,” The Decoder reports.

ZDNet explains 11ai “can connect to your Slack, Google Calendar, Perplexity and more to take action for you” and that ElevenLabs is making a free trial available.

Last month, ElevenLabs —  launched in 2023 by former Palantir engineers — debuted Conversational AI 2.0, which VentureBeat described as “a significant upgrade to its platform for building advanced voice agents for enterprise use cases, such as customer support, call centers, and outbound sales and marketing.”
