Deezer Partners with TikTok to Let Fans Share Music and Data

Deezer, the Paris-based music streamer, has teamed with TikTok to let users share songs, playlists and listening data on the mobile video platform. Listening stats from “My Deezer Month” and “My Deezer Year” can now be shared straight to TikTok. The move expands a relationship TikTok initiated last year when it added Deezer to its “Add to Music” program. The collaboration gives Deezer, which claims 9.6 million subs, broader reach while providing TikTok users a way to connect over shared interests. Also this month, Deezer added a protocol that allows music to be shared on other streaming music platforms.

“By linking the two platforms, Deezer users can turn their listening activity into creative content,” according to the RouteNote blog. “Whether it’s a favorite lyric, a top playlist, or a monthly listening summary, fans now have new ways to celebrate and share what they love — and connect through music on a global scale.”

“For most people, music is more than just something they listen to — it’s a way to express who they are and to connect with others,” said Deezer VP, Product and UX, Alexis Czornomaz, in a newsroom post. “Partnering with TikTok means our users can seamlessly share their favorite music and personal stats from My Deezer Month with the world, creating new opportunities for connection and discovery.”

“Our partnership with Deezer makes it even easier for people to share the music they love with the global TikTok community,” adds TikTok Global Product Partnerships Lead Lindsey Zikry. “Music is at the heart of creativity on our platform, and giving fans simple ways to bring their favorite songs and personal stories into TikTok helps spark new trends, discovery, and connections around the world.”

Android Authority enumerates Deezer’s attributes, calling it “underrated” and “better than YouTube Music,” due mainly to Flow, “a personalized, never-ending mix of favorite songs, artists, and genres, alongside new artists and tracks,” suggested based on “time spent using the app.”

The more you click to like or dislike songs, “the better the recommendations get,” reports Android Authority, which says the feature compares favorably to YouTube Music’s similar Supermix.

Android Authority also lauds the fact that Deezer offers lossless audio streaming and appreciates the “extra features,” which include music quizzes and concert information.
