Marketing Execs Anticipate Growth in Interactive Advertising

Marketing executives expect continued growth for interactive advertising this coming year. “According to AdMedia Partners and its 19th annual survey of industry leaders, nearly one-half (45 percent) of respondents believe digital advertising will grow by 10 percent to 15 percent in 2013,” reports MediaPost. During the past two years, the median growth rate remained consistent at 13 percent, says the report.

Additionally, “four in 10 respondents (40 percent) say they expect to see an increase of at least 20 percent in mobile,” according to MediaPost. Video ad spending is also expected to increase, as well as social ad spending.

“Also boding well for business, more than four in 10 (43 percent) respondents said they believe the economy will be stronger in 2013 — up from 36 percent in 2012,” says the report.

Among those surveyed in the service sector, interest in mobile is on the rise, as to be expected, while interest in search marketing lost the most interest from last year.

“For content firms, the highest levels of interest were in digital media (69 percent), custom content (60 percent), app development (56 percent) and user-generated content (56 percent),” according to the report.
