Shawn DuBravac, chief economist and director of research for the Consumer Electronics Association, presented “Trends to Watch” on Sunday at CES.- An estimated 20,000 new products will launch this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Key trends include:
- Interconnectivity and the “year of the interface” — including voice and gestural control.
- More than 50 tablets are expected to launch.
- An estimated 30-50 new ultrabooks will be introduced.
- Upcoming trends in TV: Push toward thin bezel and bezel-less TVs, 4K x 2K resolution, autostereoscopic 3D and larger OLED displays.
