Samsung Unveils Galaxy S25 FE Smartphone and S11 Tablets
September 9, 2025
Following the reveal of its new foldable phones, Samsung hosted a second Galaxy Unpacked summer event to unveil its Galaxy S25 FE smartphone and Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra tablets. Equipped with Samsung’s latest One UI 8 user interface, the Galaxy S25 FE features multimodal Galaxy AI capabilities including Generative Edit and Instant Slow-mo and a 12MP front-facing camera powered by the ProVisual Engine for enhanced selfies. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is billed as “the thinnest Galaxy Tab to date.” Both new tablets also boast multimodal AI capabilities with Galaxy AI.
“All three devices are betting big on AI, with a blend of Galaxy AI features (via One UI 8) and all the best parts of Google Gemini,” Tom’s Guide reports.
At $650, the S25 FE is now the lowest priced model in the Galaxy S25 lineup. A 6.7-inch display that refreshes at up to 120Hz will be a draw for mobile gamers. Tom’s Guide lauds the “larger 4,900 mAh battery and 45W wired charging” and compliments the “new lighter design.”
“Galaxy S25 FE plays an important role as a gateway into the broader Galaxy AI ecosystem, making these experiences more attainable for a wider range of users,” says Samsung Electronics Mobile Business EVP and Head of Customer Experience Jay Kim says of the S25 SE.
Additional generative AI features include Audio Eraser, which “cleans up” noise in videos by isolating specific elements — such as voices, music, wind, ambient nature, crowd noise and background interference — allowing precise control over what to reduce or remove.
Another feature, Auto Trim, “streamlines the video editing process by automatically selecting the best moments from your footage,” per Samsung.
The S25 FE phone drop sparked speculation about the upcoming Galaxy S26 line by TechRadar and others.
Meanwhile, CNBC reports that Huawei’s second-generation trifold, the XTs, “will run HarmonyOS 5.1, the latest version of the company’s own operating system,” and carry a retail price starting at $2,520.
In the tablet department, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S11 series offers a “compact 11-inch model and a larger 14.6-inch Ultra model,” explains Tom’s, noting “Samsung is betting big on productivity this year, with a new 3nm chipset, improvements to the DeX desktop mode, and a new S Pen that’s built to better mimic a real pencil.”
In addition to Gemini Live, AI features on the new tablets include Drawing Assist, which turns sketches into clean visuals, and Writing Assist, Samsung says of the Tab S11 series.
