Xiaomi AI Glasses are the Beijing-based company’s first smart glasses to include a camera. Equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX681 point-of-view camera that captures 2K video at 30 fps, the new glasses also support real-time live-streaming and first-person video calls. Notable features include a 263mAh battery that Xiaomi says delivers 8.6 hours of mixed use and an electrochromic shaded lenses option that allows the wearer to control the tint. The clear-lens model starts at $280, while those with grayscale electrochromic shaded lenses start at $380. Colored electrochromic lens models begin at $420. CES: Samsung Aims to Bring Its ‘Vision AI’ to TVs and Homes

Samsung has made a tradition of opening CES with a “First Look” event the night before exhibits open in Las Vegas. This year, that January 6 event introduced the theme “AI for All: Everyday, Everywhere,” with artificial intelligence allowing devices like TVs to intuitively (and sometimes autonomously) make choices that enhance our lifestyle. Samsung sees TV as “no longer just a screen, but a companion that enriches your home.” In addition to displays, Samsung also plans to introduce its “Vision AI” technology across various home appliance and mobile devices in 2025. Ray-Ban Meta Gets Live AI, RT Language Translation, Shazam

Meta has added new features to Ray-Ban Metas in time for the holidays via a firmware update that make the smart glasses “the gift that keeps on giving,” per Meta marketing.  “Live AI” adds computer vision, letting Meta AI see and record what you see “and converse with you more naturally than ever before.” Along with Live AI, Live Translation is available for Meta Early Access members. Translation of Spanish, French or Italian will pipe through as English (or vice versa) in real time as audio in the glasses’ open-ear speakers.
