Samsung Debuts Industry’s First Perplexity TV App for Search

Samsung — the number one television brand worldwide — has teamed with AI search firm Perplexity to bring an AI app to all 2025 Samsung TVs. The app comes with a free 12-month subscription to Perplexity Pro, normally $20 per month, aiming to elevate the TV to its place among the smartest devices in the house. And those that own 2024 or 2023 Samsung TVs won’t be left out, with the Perplexity AI app to be added via an OS upgrade before the end of the year. Perplexity Launches Publisher Revenue Sharing for AI Search

Perplexity AI has created a new revenue sharing opportunity for publishing partners affiliated with its Comet browser. Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas says the company has allocated $42.5 million in revenue to be shared among “a group of trusted publishers and journalists” supporting the company’s products with premium content. Publishers will be apportioned funds based on how much traffic their content generates across the debuting subscription model Comet Plus, as well as the Comet browser and Comet’s AI assistant. Publishers will get 80 percent of the revenue generated from the Comet Plus subscription with Perplexity keeping the rest. Motorola Will Preinstall Perplexity on New Razr, Edge Models

Perplexity AI has entered into a deal with Motorola to preinstall its artificial intelligence search engine technology in Motorola smartphones, giving buyers three free months of Perplexity Pro, which costs $20 per month and includes a deep research feature. Earlier this year, Motorola launched a Moto AI beta program to test core features like “Catch me up,” “Pay attention” and “Remember this” prompts. Based on feedback, Motorola says it has enhanced these features further as well as developed new AI experiences that will be available on the new generation of Razr and Edge devices. AI Startup Perplexity Targets $1B Valuation with New Funding

Perplexity is a year-old AI startup whose conversational “answer engine” has gained attention as a potential challenger to conventional search. Two months ago the venture raised $73.6 million in Series B funding from investors including Nvidia and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos via his Bezos Expeditions, resulting in a valuation of about $520 million. Now the company is said to be finalizing another cash infusion that is predicted to double its valuation to roughly $1 billion. The current financing round is reportedly being led by former Y Combinator partner Daniel Gross through his own investment fund.
