Avid is deploying its popular Media Composer and Avid NEXIS tools at Amazon MGM Studios via the cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS). The integration will enable the studio’s customers to use Avid’s editing and storage solutions via the cloud in a way that fits their specific production needs. Avid has been collaborating with Amazon MGM Studios for the past three years, and at the NAB 2025 show expanded the partnership to include the Avid on AWS production framework, offering studios, broadcasters, and streaming services cloud access to Avid’s post-production solutions on AWS. Amazon Prime Video has begun offering X-Ray Recaps, summaries of favorite TV shows that catch you up without risk of spoilers. The generative AI-powered feature can create snapshots of any requested view — episodes, pieces of episodes or full seasons of TV shows. “Whether you’re a few minutes into a new episode, halfway through a season” or took a break to get popcorn and need a quick refresher, X-Ray Recaps will catch you up “personalized down to the exact minute of where you are watching,” according to Amazon, which assures “guardrails are applied” to ensure the generation of spoiler-free summaries. Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video Latest to Join the MPA

Amazon will become the newest member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA), a move that is likely to have significant ramifications as the e-commerce giant throws its weight behind the global entertainment trade and lobbying organization. As the parent of both the Prime Video streaming service and MGM Studios, as well as the force behind Amazon Web Services, the company has clout across both entertainment and technology at a level that is unparalleled among MPA principals.
