Clippers Become First NBA Team to Host a Streaming Service

ClipperVision is the new direct-to-consumer regional streaming service for viewing Los Angeles Clippers basketball games and related content. The six channel options will make more than 70 of 84 regular season games available to fans located primarily in Southern California for $200 per season. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer purchased the LA Clippers for $2 billion in 2014 and has since been strategizing an improved television platform for the franchise. The new offering makes the Clippers the first NBA team to host its own streaming platform, accessible without any additional TV subscription. Baylor Launches 6P Color Imaging System at SMPTE+ Event

At Baylor University’s Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC), Baylor film and digital media professors Corey Carbonara and Michael Korpi and senior research scientist Gary Mandle introduced 6P Color, the fruits of three years of research into exploring the creation of a wider color gamut image. The daylong virtual and in-person event was also the flagship launch of SMPTE+, the organization’s new channel for content and networking, introduced by SMPTE president Hans Hoffman and executive director Barbara Lange. “Expanding the Color Universe: The Next Frontier in Imaging” was the inaugural event in the new SMPTE+ Series.
