The eight-core Exynos 5 Octa features two sets of four cores each, and is the first mobile processor to use chip manufacturing firm ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, which toggles between each core depending on the application. A consortium first launched in 2011 to address secure memory needs has established an LLC. Formed January 2, NSM Initiatives LLC is making its first appearance at CES. NSM, or Next Generation Secure Memory, is a developing content protection technology that will enable the transfer and viewing of HD content into a mobile environment. While Google and Lexus work on driverless cars, Audi set up its “Piloted Driving” simulator at CES, a technology it expects to roll out by the end of 2020. Unlike competitors with bulky sensor equipment, Audi’s system looks like a normal car and still requires a driver. Dolby revealed that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Universal Pictures and Warner Bros.
